This isn't buttercream as

As one of the top buttercream specialists in Cornwall, we take buttercream to whole new heights, creating unique and captivating showstoppers that will take your breath away!
All of our cakes are decorated with Italian meringue buttercream or ganache, even the vegan ones.
Unlike standard American buttercream, it is deliciously light, delicate and not at all too sweet, and because the meringue is made using a sugar syrup it holds up so much better on a hot sunny day too.
It's definitely worth the extra effort!
Sadly, flowers grown for the floristry industry are not safe to decorate your cake with, as many are toxic and unless your florist grows them themselves, they are likely sprayed with non-food grade chemicals.
Here at Red Robin Pantry, we work exclusively with locally & sustainably grown edible flowers when decorating our cakes, this way you know everything on your cake is safe for you and your guests. Some of our flowers are grown in our own garden, but mostly we work with Lindsey from Toots & Bloom, a local Cornish edible flower grower based just down the road in Bisoe.

We love buttercream as it's just such a versatile medium for decorating cakes. From simple pallet knife textured finishes to fully painted impasto works of art. In fact painting with buttercream is our signature style here at Red Robin Pantry, we love using it to create texture, paint beautiful flowers or landscape scenes. A simply iced buttercream cake makes the perfect canvas, and anything that can be painted with acrylics and oil paints can be recreated in buttercream or chocolate cream. The great thing too, is that because we use Italian meringue buttercream for all of our cakes it holds up beautifully on a summers day, even in a warm marquee. So we can still create beautiful 3-D edible paintings for your wedding cake and you don't need to worry one jot about it melting on your big day. Maybe don't pop it out in full direct midday sun though, nothing made from butter can cope with that!!!
We bake all of our cakes with organic & sustainably sourced ingredients, each cake consists of four layers of sponge filled with complementing preserve where applicable and filled either with Italian meringue buttercream or ganache - that includes our vegan alternatives too!
We have over 20 fabulous flavours for you to decide between from a simple Madagascan vanilla Victoria Sponge with Raspberry & Strawberry Conserve or Carrot & Walnut with Cinnamon Italian meringue buttercream to our more unusual flavours such as our hugely popular Red Wine Velvet - big sister to the classic red velvet! Pictured here we have a Madeira sponge with a hint of lemon & vanilla, and filled with our delicious lemon & blueberry curd.
Tastings & Consultations
We believe that your wedding cake should be the best cake that you've ever eaten or at least damn close! Else why bother?
All of our wedding cakes and dessert tables are completely bespoke. We offer tastings and consultations, where we can discuss your vision for your big day, and of course, you can try some of our delicious layer cakes.
If you're not able to come along for a tasting, we can post samples out to you next day delivery for you to try at home at your own leisure.
Sustainability & our impact on the environment is extremely important to us at Red Robin Pantry. We source organic, sustainable & locally sourced produce where ever possible. We use organic & fair trade chocolate in all of our confections, local organic dairy & eggs for all of our cakes, & we only decorate our cakes with seasonal edible flowers grown in Devon & Cornwall.
All of our chocolate and confectionery packaging is plastic free and biodigradable or compostable.
